Late 16th century timber framed building. Popular village local with large garden and outside bar. One handpump and hot food served during opening hours. Samuel Pepys used to drink here and was the local magistrate. Next door is the Brampton Parish Church, founded in Norman times and opposite is the Manor House, now a Cheshire Home. Occasional live music.
