Hunts CAMRA Train Trip to Nottingham – 5th May 2018.

Details of the trains are below for the purposes of booking and planning. For some trains, the earlier you book the cheaper they are.

Outbound: 08:43 from St. Neots/08:51 from Huntington arriving in Peterborough at 09:06. 09:25 from Peterborough arriving in Nottingham at 10:35.

Return: 20:34 from Nottingham arriving in Peterborough at 21:39. Peterborough to Huntingdon 21:47/22:19 or 22:46 (depending if people want to go to Brewery Tap or another pub before leaving here). Arriving in Huntington at either 22:01/22:33 or 23:00 Arriving in St. Neots at either 22:09/22:41 or 23:08

The plan for the pub tour in Nottingham is as follows:

11.00 am – Midday: • Ye Olde Trip to Jerusalem (Brewhouse Yard, NG1 6AD) The Oldest Inn in England dating back to 1189AD - this ancient pub is built into stone caves with a charming, wonky interior, resident ghosts, plus food. • Ye Olde Salutation Inn (Hounds Gate, NG1 7AA) Ancient 15th-century pub, above Anglo-Saxon caves, serving real ales 12.15 pm: • Crafty Crow (102 Friar Lane, NG1 6EB) Wood-furnished tap house with bare bulbs, serving British craft beers, real ales and eclectic menu 1.00 pm – 4.45 pm: (This part of town is known as Canning Circus) • Hand & Heart (65-67 Derby Road, NG1 5BA) Real ale buffs' boozer, a Victorian bar, cave at the back and conservatory upstairs • The Sir John Borlase Warren (1 Ilkeston Road, NG7 3JE) Classic pub offering real ales, ciders & wines, a selection of spirits, plus lunch & snacks which has the brand new Dog & Thief pub in its beer garden which has its own Beer Shed!! • The Overdraught (11-15 Alfreton Road, NG7 3JE) Craft beer and real ale are at the heart of this new in the old premises of a Nottingham bank • The Falcon (1 Alfreton Road, NG7 3JE) The Falcon Inn is situated at the heart of Canning Circus. With 8 hand-pulls on the bar, 7 of which are normally allocated to real ales from local and regional breweries and one of which is allocated to cider. • The Organ Grinder (21 Alfreton Road, NG7 3JE) Red-brick pub with a wood-burning fire pouring cask ales from the Blue Monkey Brewery or guests • A Room with a Brew (78 Derby Road, (NG1 5FD) We offer a range of our own beers as well as some of the best locally sourced real ales hand-picked from around the Midlands all served in a relaxing, friendly atmosphere. 5.00 pm: • The Barrel Drop (7 Hurts Yard, NG1 6JD) The Barrel Drop is a hidden gem that can be found tucked away at the top of Hurts Yard, one of the alleyways running between Upper Parliament Street and Angel Row. 6.00 pm: • The Vat & Fiddle (12 Queensbridge Road, NG2 1NB) 1930s brewery tap serving Castle Rock beers and pub grub, plus a visitors' centre for the Brewhouse. 7.00 pm: • BeerHeadZ (1A Queens Road, NG2 3AS) New micro pub at Nottingham Station.
