The Three Tuns Community Group (TTCG) is encouraged that South Cambs District Council is pursuing the Compulsory Purchase of The Tree in Stapleford on behalf of the community. TTCG has also been campaigning to save Guilden Morden’s only designated Asset of Community Value from property development.

Chairman of TTCG, Dennis Tear, said "We congratulate the The Tree Community Limited on achieving this important milestone. We know from our own experience how much time and effort it takes for the local community to defend its community assets from property developer owners. We too would seek to buy The Three Tuns, if given the chance."

Notes:

• The Three Tuns in Guilden Morden has been closed since January 2013 - it was sold by Greene King to the current owner as a public house

• In November 2016, the owner was refused planning permission by the Planning Inspectorate for change of use of The Three Tuns into a residential dwelling
